Lena Mucha (b. 1983) is a german photographer based in Berlin.
After graduating with a Master of Social Anthropology and Political Sciences from the University of Cologne in 2011, Lena started photography whilst working in Colombia with different NGOs. Her work focuses on stories related to human rights, gender aspects and social changes within societies and ethnic groups that are mainly under-reported.
Lena studied photography and visual storytelling with different photographers and curators (David Alan Harvey, Patrick Zachmann, Silvia Omedes, Cristina de Middle, Max Pinckers and Samuel Aranda amongst others).
She works for clientes such as Doctors without Borders and Peace Brigades International. Her work is published in international media like Washington Post, CNN, Spiegel, Spiegel Digital, UNI Spiegel, GEO, ZEIT Online, Al Jazeera, Stern, Nido Stern, El Pais, British Journal of Photography, BURN Magazine, LFI Leica Magazine, 6 mois, Huffington Post, Lensculture, Zenith, Neues Deutschland, Private Magazine - International Review of Photographs, emerge – German Magazine for photojournalism, UNFPA - United Nations Population Fund, CNRR - Colombian National Commission for Reconciliation and Reparation, WIEGO - Women in informal employment, IDWFED amongst others and exhibited internationally.
